City Building Office Held Green Building Code Forum
The City Building Office headed by Archt. Ma. Concepcion Alcantara recently held a forum on the salient provisions of the Green Building Code, a referral code of the National Building Code of the Philippines (PD 1096). Cepalco is the first company in Cagayan de Oro that has Green Building wherein they are using solar panels.
City Mayor Oscar Moreno and Councilor Zaldy O. Ocon, Chairman of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources graced the forum.
The forum aims to orient developers, contractors, building owners and allied professionals on the green building concept by utilizing natural resources to the minimum during construction stage up to its operation. It also features the building code’s resourcefulness and efficiency in practicing 3 R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle of construction materials.
