Cagayan de Oro is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and was declared a “Highly Urbanized City” by the Ministry of Local Government last November 22, 1983. I wonder who will remain stand among the 4 Malls in Cagayan de Oro in the next few decades.  The 4 big Malls in Cagayan de Oro are Centrio Ayala Mall, Gaisano City Mall, SM Mall CDO2 and Limketkai Mall.

Ayala Centrio Mall Cagayan de Oro, Limketkai Mall Cagayan de Oro, SM Mall Cagayan de Oro, Gaisano City Mall Cagayan de Oro, Cagayan de Oro Malls, List of Cagayan de Oro Malls, Largest mall in the Philippines, CDO Guide, cagayan de oro most competitive city in 2012, most competitive city in 2012, only in Cagayan de Oro, Highly Urbanized City

Limketkai Mall has a floor area of 72, 000 square meters and it is also the biggest lifestyle shopping mall in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. You can see this mall only in Cagayan de Oro because they never franchise their mall into other place of the Philippines.

Gaisano City Mall –According to my research Gaisano Mall constructed in 1992-1994 and it has a floor area of 55,100 square meters, Gaisano Mall is the 8th largest mall in the Philippines in 1989. Gaisano has 8 Minor Malls and Standalone Stores in Cagayan de oro.

The construction of the SM Mall CDO2 is now on-going which is located at C.M Recto the former bottling facility by Coca-Cola, official name of this mall has not yet release so initially they called it SM Mall CDO2 Premiere and by 2015 this SM Mall will be open to serve the Kagay-anons. SM Mall Cagayan de Oro is the 2nd largest mall from 2002-2012 and the 3rd largest mall since 2012.

Ayala Centrio Mall – The newly Mall opened in the City, it was opened last November 9, 2012. The concept is an integrated mixed-use complex composed of a shopping mall, a hotel, a BPO/office building and a condominium tower. This is a 3 storey Mall with a floor area of 64,000 square meters.  Centrio Ayala Mall is located at Claro M. Recto Avenue cor. Corrales Ave., Ayala Centrio Mall is the 2nd largest mall since 2012.

One of the proofs that Cagayan de Oro is really a booming city is that National Competitiveness Council (NCC) announces that Cagayan de Oro is the Philippines’ most competitive city in 2012. A city’s competitiveness was measured using three indicators: economic dynamism, government efficiency and infrastructure. How cool was that huh..!!!?

According to that National Competitiveness Council (NCC) also those Cities such as Makati, Cebu and Davao were not included in the list due to lack of data that would measure their competitiveness.

If you like to do Mall hopping then visit Cagayan de Oro, the 4 Malls is just a walking distance each other. The question is who will be the last mall to stand in the next few decades?
