Steps On How To Renew Driver License

How To Renew a Driver’s License

These steps are only applicable if you don’t have a traffic violation committed in the last 5 years so that you can get the 10 years validity of your driver’s license.

So here is a simple step-by-step on how to renew your driver’s license.

  1. Create an account in the LTMS Portal (Go to portal.lto.gov.ph)
  2. Verify your account within 24 hours (A verification link will be sent to your email address. This link will expire after 24 hours so ensure that you verify your account within the 24-hour period from the date of registration).
  3. Log in and take the Driver’s License Renewal Course, then proceed to the Comprehensive Driver’s Education (CDE) Online Validation Exam. (Passing score is 13 out of 25 items). This exam is FREE!
  4. Go to an LTO-accredited clinic for your medical exam. The list is found on their website. (Payment is Php 400-500 depending on the clinic). After your medical exam, the staff will give you a medical exam reference number.
  5. Log-in and type the medical exam reference number and upload a digital copy of your medical exam results to proceed to payment.
  6. Pay the LTO fee amounting to Php 585 via cash/debit card/credit card / other acceptable payment methods.
  7. Schedule an appointment at the LTMS Portal.
  8. Before proceeding to the LTO office, make sure to print and bring all the requirements (expiring driver’s license, medical certificate, CDE exam results).
  9. Proceed to the LTO licensing office on the date and time of your appointment.

PS: You can apply for renewal of your driver’s license 2 months prior to the date of expiration to avoid penalties.
Everything was so fast and convenient. More or less around 10 minutes you have your new driver’s license, but it depends on how busy the renewal place is. During renewal, if you don’t have a traffic violation then your driver’s license will be 10 years valid. 💯 Kudos to LTO Limketkai Cagayan de Oro City Driver’s License Renewal Center for the commendable service.
