Macasandig High School Ground Breaking

Macasandig National High School will soon have its own main campus as City Mayor Oscar Moreno and other city and barangay officials held the groundbreaking ceremony on April 10, 2014, paving the way for the initial construction of a two-storey, 16-classroom school building project at the one-hectare barangay-owned lot.

With the Special Education Fund of the Local School Board as the source of funds, the school building project is expected to be completed before the opening of classes in June this year.

Mayor Moreno expedited the project after noting that there are numerous high schools of the city which are still remain ‘annex high schools’ at present and mostly occupying as ‘squatters’ in elementary schools where they hold regular classes.

Lately, the administration of Mayor Moreno also broke ground last month the construction of a two-storey, 16-classroom school building project for Balulang National High School.

Mayor Moreno assured that the city government will immediately start the construction of same school building projects in other barangays where the remaining ‘annex high schools’ are located, as long as the concerned barangay councils will provide at least one-hectare lot for the school site.
