Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Entrepreneurs Avail Services of Cagayan de Oro Negosyo Center

Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and various entrepreneurs who will avail services of Cagayan de Oro Negosyo Center can now take advantage of getting several science and technology information to improve business products and processes through Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Station (STARBOOKS), a digital library from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

In a turnover ceremony on 10 June 2016 at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Oriental provincial office, Tiano-Akut Sts., Cagayan de Oro City, DOST Regional Director Alfonso P. Alamban shared that STARBOOKS is a technology rolled out by DOST nationwide.

 It is a digital library wherein barangays and far flung communities can access scientific and technological information without the use of internet. As of now, 70 STARBOOKS have been distributed throughout the regions. According to Alamban, they started with schools and colleges and now with negosyo centers.

Further, Negosyo Center in Cagayan de Oro city is continuing with its learning sessions which is three to four hours session which they do third and fourth week of the month together with their industry partners from the academe and industry associations.

Further, Negosyo Centers in Claveria and El Salvador are open. Both Negosyo Centers are already operating; courses being offered include skills training among others. Pabillore said, this year they intend to launch six more Negosyo Centers in the other towns of Misamis Oriental particularly in Medina, Opol, Laguindingan, Lugait and two other municipalities.

On the other hand, Pabillore announced that DTI Misamis Oriental is already accepting applications for the Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBE). She said they already issued several certificates for BMBEs and they continue to accept.
