Mindanao International Flights

Mindanao International Flights

The opening of two international flights in Davao not only brought Mindanao to international tourism market but it also marked a sign of improving peace and order as seen from the eyes of the rest of the world. It is paving the way to the long-sought decentralization of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) which solely caters these flights for how many decades. For the past few years, we have seen a monumental growth of tourism industry in Mindanao which is evident in the series of rehabilitation and expansion of major airports in the island. But how can the entire Mindanao benefit from the planned decentralization of Philippine international gateways?

The solution is to divide international flights among major airports in Mindanao. For instance, passengers from New York City who are bound to Mindanao may bypass NAIA and go straight to Laguindingan Airport. Passengers who are also from Europe, say United Kingdom, could take the UK-Gensan Flight. Our OFWs from the middle east could directly go home to Mindanao via UAE-Butuan route. Malaysia, Thai, and Indonesian flights for Zamboaga International Airport. Lastly the rest of the Asian route would land in Davao International Airport.

With this set-up, we promote the entire MIndanao. It wont hassle passengers since nearly all cities in Mindanao are situated in the mainland. The Mindanao Railway will also host transprovincial travel which will cut travelling time.
