Mawi Solaiman was shot dead by three unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen while on duty as an employee of an “ukay-ukay” shop in Daumar-Yacapin Street.

According to the police, one of the suspects has evaded arrest but two other suspects were shot dead.

Recovered from them is a caliber .45 pistol and a magazine.

The police could still not confirm who fired back at the suspects.

According to SPO1 Neil Delas Alas, investigator of Police Station 2, they are eyeing “rido” or family feud as the motive behind the incident, involving the family of a certain “Jabar” who owns the “ukay-ukay” shop where the victim works.

Abdul Racman Jabar, the cousin of the owner, did not reveal the details of the family feud but confirmed that the victim is also their relative.

Police are now checking CCTV footage in the area to give light on the case and to determine who fired back at the two suspects, as well as to identify the other suspect who managed to escape.
